Scripts
Spencerian
One of the most elegant traditional calligraphy hands, Spencerian script is defined by elegant swooping capitals and minimally shaded lower case letters. Spencerian script was developed in North America in the 19th century and is sometimes referred to as a 'business' hand.
Copperplate
This pointed pen hand was perfected by penmen in the seventeenth and eighteenth century. Copperplate was developed as a writing style which could be engraved into copper plates for printing purposes. This fact points to where copperplate gets its other name, which some calligraphers refer to as the 'correct' name: English Roundhand, or Engrossers script.
Lavender Causal Script
This casual script is Laura Lavender's own hand, derived from Copperplate.
Lavender Flourished
This formal, embellished script is Laura Lavender's own hand, derived from Copperplate.
Carrie Modern Script
This modern script is Laura Lavender's own hand, written in an upright fashion. This bounce script is named for the iconic Carrie Bradshaw, and emulates her style, grace and flair!
Engrossers Script Flourished
This hand is a flourished version of copperplate.
Lavender Lady's Hand
This elegant script is a flourished spencerian.
Layout
Centered
Centred envelope addressing is the most classic & traditional layout for calligraphy addressing. This is a versatile layout that works with all calligraphy styles.
Banner
This whimsical envelope addressing style features an elegant banner, which can hold the message "PLEASE DELIVER TO.." - Or any message you wish.
Left Adjusted
Left adjusted calligraphy addressing provides a formal, classic look to your envelopes. This layout is well suited to traditional calligraphy scripts.An elegant flourish can be added along the left border for added beauty.
Circle
This fun envelope addressing layout is well suited to a modern calligraphy style such as 'lavender casual' script or, of course, 'lavender modern' script.
Diagonal
Diagonal envelope addressing has the addressing moving in an angle across the envelope. This modern style is well suited to casual and modern scripts.
Ink Colour
Walnut
Walnut ink is a beautiful sepia toned ink which Laura Lavender custom mixes and is made in fact from peat. The brown shades look lovely on cream, white or other light stationery.
Black
Laura Lavender uses Japanese Sumi ink to provide rich, decadent black tones.
White
White ink looks fabulous on black or other dark stationery.
Gold
Laura Lavender uses the finest gold ink to address stationery. Gold calligraphy looks best on dark stationery.
Custom Mixes
Laura Lavender can custom mix any colour ink your heart desires.
Maps
Ink
Laura Lavender's hand lettered ink maps are carefully hand hand lettered with your place names, and illustrated with great little drawings of your chosen locations.
Water Colour
Your custom watercolour maps are created with detail drawing which are then carefully watercoloured. Place names, titles and important details are hand lettered in ink.
Digital
Laura Lavender's digital maps are hand lettered and illustrated on a tablet with a pen. These completely custom creations are then delivered as a high resolution file for printing.
Digital Coloured
Laura Lavender's digital coloured maps take the digital map one step further. After being hand lettered & illustrated on a tablet with a pen, the maps are digitally coloured by hand. These completely custom creations are then delivered as a high resolution file for printing
